4SP is a Pittsburgh, PA based original and cover band that was formed early in 1998. The best way to describe our original sound is 50% the Beatles meets Nirvana, and 50% nothing you have ever heard before. Our covers are mostly classic rock, but we also cover a few modern and obscure tunes. Most of our tunes are written by the band's founder "Mike Scheer". In our list of tunes you can hear 30-45 second clips of some of our music...

Originally the band was formed just to enter a "battle of the bands" that a friend was hosting at a local bar. We had so much fun putting the tunes together for the contest that we decided to make this a full-time band. The original name of the band was "4-Skin Pizza" (interesting story.. write or ask a band member if you want to hear it), but we then shortened the name to 4SP. Every member of the band is a veteran Pittsburgh musician (some a little more than others), and we've all been in our share of bands.

Mike Scheer, Guitar and lead vocals, has played in bands such as CAPTIVE, DEN OF THIEVES, PRETTY TANGLED, and ELECTRA LOVES DADDY. He has also written / co-written and recorded 75+ songs, and worked with many other people such as producer David Werner (author "Cradle of Love" recorded by Billy Idol), Brian Bassett (Wild Cherry guitarist) and former CAPTIVE band manager Art Nardini (of Joey G. fame) You can also catch Mike in his 2 other bands, "the Convertible Jerks", and "Randy Scar's Git". Occasionally you may also see Mike performing alone as "the Mike Scheer One Man Band."

Paul Garlicki, Drums, has played in such bands as ARRON'S ROD, the CRITICS, and FRED FREQUENCY. Paul has a million and one stories about his days in Arron's Rod. Ask him how he nearly went up in flames a few times or about the M-80's! Paul's attention to detail is evident in every song he plays. You can also check him out in his other band with Ken Bittel called "WARSAW GHETTO FIGHTERS".

Tony DeLuca, Bass and Vocals, has played in bands such as SIN CITY, DEN OF THIEVES, ELECTRA LOVES DADDY, MR. SCARY, and GLITZ. Tony has a wide musical background, which includes playing many other instruments such as piano, drums, banjo, baritone, and tuba. Tony has also had experience playing many styles of music including jazz, funk, classical, and of course rock.
